Every year in November, we engage in a heartfelt project designed to create a beautiful space—a tree—dedicated to expressing gratitude and celebrating the spirit of Thanksgiving. This project is open to everyone, inviting individuals from all walks of life to participate and share their reflections and appreciation.

The Origin Story

When gratitude becomes your default setting, life changes.

—Nacy Leigh Demoss

How does it work?

The process is quite simple and straightforward. Commit to creating a meaningful habit of gratitude for a period of 30 days. Begin by finding a tree that resonates with you. You can choose a living tree in your neighborhood that you feel drawn to or get creative and make a symbolic tree of your own! Gather or purchase your supplies and start your journey of giving thanks regularly. Remember, gratitude is not just an individual practice; it is about connecting with others, so encourage your neighbors, family, and friends to join in on this enriching experience together! Seek out inspiration from various sources to enhance your practice.

Supplies

Whether you choose an outdoor tree or create a craft paper tree, you'll need a few essential supplies such as a waterproof container (if outdoors), permanent markers and tags for your tree. Additionally, supplies such as signage, a guest book and instructions will help you. You can gather these supplies from local gardening centers or home improvement stores, where you can often find knowledgeable staff to assist you. For convenience, consider assembling your supplies through an online store, which offers various options for faster shopping and delivery right to your doorstep. This way, you can ensure you have everything you need without the hassle.
